Spindle Ball Bearings

Welcome to our spindle ball bearings, also known as angular contact bearings, the ultimate destination for high precision and speed in your machinery. Spindle ball bearings are specially designed for applications where high rotational speeds, minimal friction, and excellent precision are paramount. Often found in the heart of complex machinery such as machine tools, high-speed drills, and precision equipment, these bearings play a crucial role in enhancing the performance of these devices.

Value without compromise

Spindle ball bearings are typically constructed with an inner ring, an outer ring, a set of steel balls, and a cage to hold the balls in place. They differ from standard bearings due to their advanced materials, tighter tolerances, and specialized designs, which all contribute to achieving higher speeds, superior precision, and extended bearing life.

Our collection of spindle ball bearings comes in various sizes, configurations, and designs, such as single-row, double-row, angular contact, and sealed versions. Each bearing is built to the highest standards to ensure optimal performance even in the most demanding conditions.

Whether you’re involved in manufacturing, assembly, or repair, our high-quality spindle ball bearings can help to enhance your equipment’s speed and precision. Take the time to browse through our extensive range and find the perfect bearings that align with your specific requirements and operational conditions. Let us assist you in making the best choice to ensure your machinery performs at its absolute best.

What is the difference between radial bearings and spindle bearings?

Radial bearings, also known as deep groove ball bearings, are specifically designed to bear loads primarily in the radial direction, which means perpendicular to the axis of rotation. While they can handle a certain degree of axial or thrust loads, they’re optimized for scenarios where the main load is radial. Examples of such applications include electric motors, conveyor rollers, and gearboxes. The key point here is that in a radial bearing, the line of action of the load passes through the balls and is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the bearing.

In contrast, angular contact bearings, often called spindle bearings, are designed to carry axial and radial loads simultaneously. This is achieved by having the raceways in the inner and outer rings displaced with respect to each other along the direction of the bearing axis. This unique construction allows the bearing to accommodate combined loads and manage higher axial loads depending on the contact angle. In fact, the larger the contact angle, the higher the axial load the bearing can sustain.

The line of action of the load in an angular contact bearing forms an angle with the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. This type of bearing is primarily used in applications where precision is essential, such as in high-speed machinery, spindle bearings in machine tools, and jet engines.

In essence, the distinction between radial and angular contact bearings lies in their application’s specific load and performance requirements. Radial bearings are best for handling primarily radial loads with some axial capacity, whereas angular contact bearings are equipped to manage both radial and axial loads at the same time.

Product:
Bearings
Application:
High pressure pure air generators
Challenge:
High pressure pure air generators are designed to replace rechargeable gas bottles on modern military aircraft. The system draws in atmospheric air to provide a continuous supply of high-pressure pure air, which results in unlimited mission duration and eliminates the logistics burden associated with gas bottles.
Solution:
For critical applications, reliability and resilience is paramount. IEC supplied components are capable of operating with high degrees of accuracy under extreme load.
Bearings for Electric Motors
Product:
Bearings
Application:
Co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM)
Challenge:
5-axis measurement represents the biggest step-change in measurement capability ever introduced, delivering unprecedented speed and measurement flexibility, whilst avoiding the speed versus accuracy compromises inherent in conventional techniques.
Solution:
Duty of CMMs is generally low hence there is intermittent operation of bearings. Machines do require high reliability so products are tested and developed continuously, meaning technical support from bearing OEMs is critical. Some bearings are supplied with specific profiled outer ring designs.

Bearings
Application:
Peristaltic pump
Challenge:
Peristaltic pumps use occlusion rollers and positive displacement to feed fluid in industrial and medical applications, regulating flow and eliminating the need for valves. Bearings fitted in occlusion rollers have a cycle of coming on and off load with the potential to skip.
Solution:
It is important to select a bearing with high quality machining of its raceways to allow the bearing to readily accept these changes in state.
