We act as partners, making our customers’ engineering challenges ours to solve, removing stress and freeing up time to turn ideas in to  innovation.

Dual Quadcopter Industrial Power Transmission Components
Product:
Disc springs
Application:
Dragonfly dual-quadcopter lander
Challenge:
NASA’s mission to explore the solar system delivers an 8-bladed rotorcraft to visit Saturn’s largest and richly organic moon, Titan. Dragonfly will sample and examine dozens of promising sites around Saturn’s icy moon and advance our search for the building blocks of life.
Solution:
Our disc springs are used to help provide much-needed stability during the landing phase of the mission. The assembly is mounted inside a swivel device that works to prevent any parachute spin being imparted onto the probe below. During the mission, the disc spring stack will be subjected to cryogenic temperatures of 63 K, (-210 degC). Product design and material selection are critical factors in mission success.
