Schnorr Load Washers
Taking the form of a disc spring, a Schnorr load washer serves as a fastening solution intended to compensate for the loosening of screwed connections.

Designed to protect for bolt joints.
Schnorr load washers are conical shaped washers engineered for the protection of bolted joints by maintaining the load under the head of a bolted joint. Load washers have been specially developed for high-strength bolts of grades 8.8 – 10.9.  The load of the washers have been matched to these bolts and are 70% to 90% of the standard bolt load in the flat state.
- Optimum compensation for setting in the joint
- Suitable for high axial load
- Reduction of the dynamic loading of the screw
- Uniform concentric loading and high safety through a high degree of spring action

Schnorr Precision Engineered Load Washers
The term ‘load washer’ is used to describe a spring element in the form of a disc spring that achieves its locking effect solely by means of the frictional connection.
These precision engineered washers are intended to compensate for loosening of the screwed connection, for example, due to setting, by maintaining a sufficiently high pretension in the connection with spring force. They are especially suitable for primarily axially loaded, short bolts. However, they provide no effective security against unscrewing due to alternating lateral loading.
Schnorr precision engineered washers offer the following advantages:

- High axial load:Â Ensures robust performance under high-stress conditions.
- Optimum compensation for setting in the joint:Â Maintains joint integrity over time.
- Reduction of dynamic loading of the bolt due to higher elasticity of the joint:Â Enhances durability and longevity.
- Uniform concentric loading eliminates bending in the bolt:Â Promotes structural stability.
- Greater safety with a high degree of spring action:Â Provides reliable performance in critical applications.
- Suitable for captive fitting on a wide range of bolts (combi bolts):Â Versatile application in various settings.
Schnorr Heavy Duty Precision Engineered Load Washers (HDS)
High Stress Precision Engineered Load Washers (HS)
These precision engineered washers have a smaller outer diameter than heavy-duty load washers (DIN 6796). A notable feature of these washers is the slightly curved form, which provides a progressively increasing characteristic curve. Despite the smaller outside diameter dimensions, this makes it possible to achieve the same load as the heavy-duty load washers. These washers are primarily used when the space available is insufficient for standard load washers. They are available for bolt sizes M6 to M30.
Schnorr holds ISO9001 and TS16949 approvals, ensuring that all washers meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Our washers are designed to provide superior performance and durability in a wide range of applications, from automotive to aerospace industries.
Choose Schnorr precision engineered washers for your high-performance needs. Whether you require heavy-duty or high-stress load washers, our products offer the reliability and efficiency that your projects demand.
HIGH STRESS LOAD WASHERS 'HS'
This safety washer is in principle a HDS washer with a smaller outer diameter than those in DIN 6796. A notable feature of these load washers is the slightly curved form which provides a progressively increasing characteristic curve. Despite the smaller outside diameter dimensions this make is possible to achieve the same load as the HDS washers as per DIN 6796. These washers are primarily used when the space available is insufficient for standardised load washers.
