Tractor mounted rotating equipment can be subject to extreme vibration, so a secure but maintainable connection is crucial.

Solution:

IEC specified a patented mechanically based, self-locking reusable secure fastener system will not lose torque under high vibration conditions but is easy to remove with a standard wrench or socket.

Challenge:

Bearing and equipment damage can occur due to high operating temperatures and or particulate ingress, particularly in harsh working environments such as experienced by off-highway vehicles.

Solution:

IECs technical team worked closely with the client’s engineering team and manufacturing partners to provide custom-designed metallic sealing solutions to prevent contamination ingress and deliver a low friction solution for high-speed turbo engines, extending equipment life and service intervals.

Safety Washers & Fuji Lock Nuts

Application:

Supersonic car

Challenge:

Bloodhound LSR was a UK-based project aiming to break the world land speed record using the most advanced straight-line racing car ever built. Designed to travel at supersonic speeds, our safety washers are employed throughout the vehicle, and our lock nuts were employed in two critical systems.

Solution:

Within the gearbox of the Jaguar supercharged V-8 auxiliary power unit that would drive the oxidiser pump for the one Eurofighter jet engines. Additionally, IEC’s lock nuts were used to secure the rear wheels in position as they spun up to 10,200 rpm, resist centrifugal forces of up to 50,000 Kg.
